Commercial Credit Analyst

(Saint Joseph Main Office - 321 Main Street, Saint Joseph)


Position Summary:

The Commercial Credit Analyst assists commercial lenders in the analysis and review of commercial loan opportunities, as well as monitoring the makeup and performance of the bank’s loan portfolios, coordination of loan/portfolio analysis efforts, and interaction with clients, with or without the client’s primary loan officer.

  Follows all Bank safety and security policies and procedures.
  Maintains confidentiality at all times when dealing with customers’ financial records and personal information.
  Delivers an invaluable experience for customers by bringing passion, dedication and integrity to the job every day.
  Oversees and manages financial statement information to generate current reports, requests for information and related correspondence, including all tracking functions.
  Serves as the recording secretary for loan committee.
  Establishes, reviews and updates new and existing loan files on a regular basis.
  Performs credit inquiries as requested.
  Oversees and recommends credit review policies and their implementation, as outlined in the bank’s guidelines.
  Evaluates loan portfolios, which may include risk concentration, industry concentration, and other reports as needed. Reports results to senior management.
  Obtains loan request information from commercial lender or borrower to analyze credit information, financial statements and other related information pertaining to the loan.
  Prepares written analysis, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions. Prepares or assists in the preparation of loan presentations for loan committee.
  Utilizes financial statement spreading software to prepare financial statement reviews.
  Reviews credit presentations for credit policy and procedure compliance.
  Accompanies commercial lenders as needed on business calls.
  Presents loan approval requests at loan committee, as needed/requested
  Reviews and maintains line of credit borrowing base reports and other credit monitoring reports obtained from clients.
  Maintains and manages the Bank’s financial statement tracking processes and procedures and assists lenders in obtaining required financial information on a timely basis
  Provides advice and assistance relative to loan clients to loan officers as needed. /td>
  Demonstrates initiative by proposing ideas for implementation to improve loan presentation quality, financial statement tracking, and credit policy adherence./td>
  Performs other related duties, as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is preferred.
  Ability to work with individuals and groups at all levels within the organization; ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  Self-motivated and directed with strong attention to detail.
  Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
